Hello, I thought that I would introduce myself and tell you a little about me. I graduated from Eagle Grove High
School, then went to Iowa Central Community College, then finally landed at UNI. While at UNI I coached JV basketball for
Clarksville, met my wife, and had my first son, Joe. I graduated from UNI in the spring of 2000 with certification in
Elementary Education, Spanish k-12, and Coaching. The following year my family and I went to Rockwell City/Lytton
and taught high school Spanish. After 1 year my family and I decided that we wanted to travel and see a little of the
world so we took off to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. I taught 6th grade and my wife was the preschool principal.
It was a great two years that we spent there exploring the country and doing things that you just can't do in Iowa. They
included climbing the temples of Tikal, Guatemala, scuba diving along the 3rd best reefs in the world, and speaking Spanish
daily. Towards the end of our time there we had our second son, Quincy. He's our little "catracho" which
means Honduran. When we came back I worked in the high school again teaching Spanish at Laurens/Marathon Schools.
During which the juniors and seniors had a fantastic trip to Spain and Morrocco. We saw the great works of Dahli, Picasso,
Gaudi and many others. Now I've returned to Clarksville to start another chapter in my life.
In my teaching I try to show the students what I've seen and done solely because I learned another language. I've
had so many great experiences and seen and done so much in a short period of time.

be your travel bag." Alexander Solzhenitsyn
